Original sin

This topic will mainly be about Original sin. But we will also talk about infants, salvation and even a little Calvinism vs Arminianism involved.

So, just what exactly is original sin? Many Christians may have different views on what it really is. Some think it is literally a genetic defect. Some, like me simply think it is when man and woman sinned and the result of it was a fall from a perfect and holy state. Thus, humanity is in a fallen state. But I don't believe this is physically passed down as if you can have it removed in surgery! I'm going to show you why I believe what I believe and then from there, I am going to show you my views on infants and salvation.

  1. Spiritual consequences of sin cannot be transmitted from father to son but only falls on the one who committed the act: Ezek 18:1-4; 18-20; Jer 32:29-30
  2. 1. Exodus 32:3133 In this passage, Moses wanted to receive the punishment for someone else's sin. In verse 33, the one who sinned is removed from the book, not the one whose parents have sinned.
  3. We will be judged only by our own actions: Mt 12:36-37; Rom 2:6; 2 Cor 5:10; 1 Pe 1:17
  4. Isa 59:1-2, "Your sins have separated you from your God" not Adams
  5. Sin is committed by individually breaking God's law: 1 John 3:4 (Infants have done nothing)
So we see with the verses above that we are not punished by Adam's sin or someone else's, like our fathers. Sin is merely only transgression of the law. I don't think we are born with something nasty in us called "sin". If that were the case. Wouldn't of Jesus been "infected" with original sin?

Verses used by those who believe in a sinful state of birth:

(Psalm 51:5) "Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity, And in sin my mother conceived me." This is from a Psalm of David after his sin with Bathsheba. It deals with the sin of an adult, and shows the repentance of an adult (vs. 10-13). David does not say he was a "sinner baby" but rather that his mother conceived him in sin. Read it again and see! David was born into a sinful world. Sin was all around him from birth, so he was 'brought forth in iniquity." The Jewish writers who wrote of this Psalm say the same thing.; David is saying that he was born into a sinful environment.

(Psalm 58:3) "The wicked are estranged from the womb; These who speak lies go astray from birth." First, note that if these people were born astray then they could not "go astray from birth." Infants are born into a sinful world with their eyes and ears wide open. They are so inquisitive, beginning to learn immediately through taste, touch, sound, sight and smell. They are watching, and they see evil all around them constantly from birth. They may not know it is evil yet, but it is there and it does influence them. The clincher is this: the ones going astray speak lies, so the going astray has to be accomplished, at the very least, only after the person has learned to speak!

(Ephesians 2:3) "Among them we too all formerly lived in the lusts of our flesh, indulging the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, even as the rest." What made these people "children of wrath"? Was it something they inherited or something they had done? Verses 1 and 2 help us to answer that question. "And you were dead in your trespasses and sins, in which you formerly walked according to the course of this world..." They were "by nature" what they were. "Nature" here does not refer to constitutional character but rather to habit... sin became natural, or we sometimes say, "second nature" to them by their long and diligent practice of it.

Verses that contradict the sinfulness of infants:

(Matthew 18:3) "Truly I say to you, unless you are converted and become like children, you shall not enter the kingdom of heaven." Jesus said we must become converted and like little children. He would not tell us to do this if children were truly born totally depraved. If they were born as totally depraved that would mean that there is nothing in them that is not depraved and therefore we should not become like children in any sense. But Jesus said there was something in children that we need to take as our example (their humility). This passage shows that children are not born totally depraved (see also Psalm 106:36-39).

More verses showing babies or innocent:

  1. Why would Jesus use infants as a model for all believers to imitate in character if they were "utterly indisposed, disabled, and made opposite to all good, and wholly inclined to all evil"? Mt 18:1-3; 19:13-14
  2. Paul also used infants as a model of purity for Christians to follow: 1 Cor 14:20
  3. Paul states that he was once spiritually alive but then he sinned & died/was killed: Rom 7:9-11
  4. God said that the king of Tyrus was "blameless in your ways from the day you were created, until unrighteousness was found in you." Ezek 28:15
  5. "God made men upright but they sought devices" Eccl 7:29 (plural can't refer only to Adam)

Now, I want people to disprove me and show me how I am wrong, if I am wrong. I wish not to speak lies.

God bless.

Secular sources for Jesus' existence

1. Flavius Josephus (37 A.D - 101 AD, Jewish Historian) mentions John the Baptist and Herod - Book of Antiquities book 18 chapter 5 paragraph 2

- "Now some of the Jews thought that the destruction of Herod's army came from God, and that very justly, as a punishment of what he did against John, that was called the Baptist: for Herod slew him, who was a good man, and commanded the Jews to exercise virtue, both as to righteousness towards one another, and piety towards God, and so to come to baptism; for that the washing [with water] would be acceptable to him, if they made use of it, not in order to the putting away [or the remission] of some sins [only], but for the purification of the body; supposing still that the soul was thoroughly purified beforehand by righteousness."

2. Flavius Josephus (37 A.D - 101 AD, Jewish Historian) mentions Jesus - Book of Antiquities book 18 chapter 3 paragraph 3

- "Now there was about this time Jesus, a wise man, if it be lawful to call him a man; for he was a doer of wonderful works, a teacher of such men as receive the truth with pleasure. He drew over to him both many of the Jews and many of the Gentiles. He was [the] Christ. And when Pilate, at the suggestion of the principal men amongst us, had condemned him to the cross, (9) those that loved him at the first did not forsake him; for he appeared to them alive again the third day; (10) as the divine prophets had foretold these and ten thousand other wonderful things concerning him. And the tribe of Christians, so named from him, are not extinct at this day. "

3. Flavius Josephus (37 A.D - 101 AD, Jewish Historian) mentions James, the brother of Jesus, Book of Antiquities book 20 chapter 9

- "Festus was now dead, and Albinus was but upon the road; so he assembled the sanhedrim of judges, and brought before them the brother of Jesus, who was called Christ, whose name was James, and some others, [or, some of his companions]; and when he had formed an accusation against them as breakers of the law, he delivered them to be stoned: but as for those who seemed the most equitable of the citizens, and such as were the most uneasy at the breach of the laws, they disliked what was done."

4. Flavius Josephus (37 A.D - 101 AD, Jewish Historian) mentions Ananias the High priest who was mentioned on Acts 23:2

- "Now as soon as Albinus was come to the city of Jerusalem, he used all his endeavors and care that the country might be kept in peace, and this by destroying many of the Sicarii. But as for the high priest, Ananias (25) he increased in glory every day, and this to a great degree, and had obtained the favor and esteem of the citizens in a signal manner; for he was a great hoarder up of money"

5. Tacitus (55 AD - 117 AD, Roman historian) mentions "Christus" who is Jesus - Annals 15.44

- "Consequently, to get rid of the report, Nero fastened the guilt and inflicted the most exquisite tortures on a class hated for their abominations, called Christians by the populace. Christus, from whom the name had its origin, suffered the extreme penalty during the reign of Tiberius at the hands of one of our procurators, Pontius Pilatus, and a most mischievous superstition, thus checked for the moment, again broke out not only in Judea, the first source of the evil, but even in Rome, where all things hideous and shameful from every part of the world find their centre and become popular."

6. Lucian ( AD 120 - 180 AD) mentions Jesus

- "The Christians, you know, worship a man to this day the distinguished personage who introduced their novel rites, and was crucified on that account. . . . You see, these misguided creatures start with the general conviction that they are immortal for all time, which explains the contempt of death and voluntary self-devotion which are so common among them; and then it was impressed on them by their original lawgiver that they are all brothers, from the moment that they are converted, and deny the gods of Greece, and worship the crucified sage, and live after his laws. All this they take quite on faith, with the result that they despise all worldly goods alike, regarding them merely as common property."

7. Pliny the Younger mentions Jesus

- "They (the Christians) were in the habit of meeting on a certain fixed day before it was light, when they sang in alternate verses a hymn to Christ, as to a god, and bound themselves by a solemn oath, not to any wicked deeds, but never to commit any fraud, theft or adultery, never to falsify their word, nor deny a trust when they should be called upon to deliver it up; after which it was their custom to separate, and then reassemble to partake of food but food of an ordinary and innocent kind."

8. Thallus mentions an eclipse of the sun

-"On the whole world there pressed a most fearful darkness; and the rocks were rent by an earthquake, and many places in Judea and other districts were thrown down. This darkness Thallus, in the third book of his history, calls, as appears to me without reason, an eclipse of the sun."

9. The Talmud

- "On the eve of the Passover Yeshu was hanged. For forty days before the execution took place, a herald went forth and cried, "He is going forth to be stoned because he has practiced sorcery and enticed Israel to apostasy. Any one who can say anything in his favor, let him come forward and plead on his behalf." But since nothing was brought forward in his favor he was hanged on the eve of the Passover!"

"I lack belief in god"

This statement has became a quite often saying in the Atheist community. I for one, think it is a cop out to not deal with the problems with Atheism. I would hate to have to correct them, but the real definition is a rejection of Theism or a rejection of God. Of course they lack belief, but don't we all in many things? Why is it towards God? You see, I think both sides, to reject it or accept it take faith.

Lets look at what a dictionary really says about Atheism:

"a disbelief in the existence of deity" or "the doctrine that there is no deity".

It appears Atheism is more than a lack of belief. It actually IS a belief. A BELIEF that there is no deity. How do they come to this conclusion? I don't think it is due to the lack of evidence, I think it is due to simply the rejection of it all. In debating Atheists, I have seen that they come up with excuses or reject the evidences I put forth. To a certain point, it's like they are biased in some type of ideology and refuse to believe in God no matter what. They are will to put more faith in believing in making up an excuse than what the facts suggest. That being that there is a creator. I've even had Atheists tell me they would be against God even if it was totally proven He exists. This doesn't sound like people who say they simply lack belief in god. It seems like to me it is actually a choice, a group, who can even act religious.

How do they act religious you ask? Well, it's there ideas and beliefs that make them religious. You see, if you reject the idea of god or you simply lack belief, then you must have some type of belief or answers in life. Atheism itself may simply be a rejection of a god, but it is also wrapped in philosophy and a naturalistic view on life. Not all Atheists are the same, don't get me wrong. But it is a choice, a group of people who are seeking truth in life to. They are no different than any other religious group that try to answer things on a philosophical and ideological concept.

And even if everything I am saying is wrong, lets just take a look how most Atheists act. Most Atheists are anti-theists, thus, proving more that they are a group of people who entitle themselves "anti-theist". Because after all, Atheism is without Theism, it is a rejection of it. What makes them do such things or lead them to holding that position? I'll never know. I believe it's because they have beliefs and they don't like disagreement. I mean really, if Atheism is simply a lack of belief in god, then why do you hold an Atheistic position? There is no evidence or anything, it has to leg to stand on.
Atheism is an intellectual position. What reasons do you have for holding that position? Your reasons are based upon logic, and/or evidence or lack of it. So, is there any reason/evidence for you holding your position that you defend? If you say that atheism needs no evidence or reason, then you are holding a position that has no evidence or rational basis? If so, then isn’t that simply faith? If you say that atheism is supported by the lack of evidence for God, then it is only your opinion that there is no evidence. You cannot know all evidence for or against God, therefore you cannot say there is no evidence for God.

Let me just ask a random question. Is my dog an Atheist? I mean I'm sure he lacks belief in god. In fact, I think he doesn't believe in god. But do you know why my dog is not an Atheist? It's because he does not acknowledge what Atheism really is! He doesn't even know what Theism is. If he chose Atheism over Theism, it would be based on his personal choice.

Back on topic however, lets see how some Atheists act again. Why are there Atheist conventions where Atheists can fellowship and share there Atheism and how they became an Atheist? Also lets not forget the fact that other Atheists try to convert other people to there lack of belief in god. Yeah, but all of this only comes simply from a lack of belief in god...

Marriage, sex and the Bible

There isn't much to say here. I simply wanted to show you the main reason and purpose behind marriage and also tell you my views on it. So, this blog is a short one.

We must ask where did "marriage" come from or what does it even mean. I believe marriage was ordained or set up by God all the way back in the Garden of Eden. God commanded them to be fruitful and to go out in all the world and procreate. Because God is the creator, we know God must of created sex. The main purpose behind relationships, is that, to procreate. However, this act is to only be done between a man and a woman. Husband and wife to be exact. The Bible encourages us to enjoy your sex lives in that type of relationship. Fornication, however, is sinful. This can even make the possibility of STD's to spread.

So what is marriage exactly? This definition puts it this way:

"the state of being united to a person of the opposite sex as husband or wife in a consensual and contractual relationship recognized by law"

I think this goes right along with the Biblical definition of marriage. Not to offend homosexuals (because I have a homosexual uncle), but marriage is suppose to be between a man and woman, for the reason I said earlier. That being sex. That is the main purpose, however. I do not have an answer on the purpose of love and being affectionate towards each other. Jesus never said anything on it. But the Old Testament does, so why does Jesus need to say anything? Although the laws were different back then, it still makes it clear it is an abomination. God obviously created male and female for a reason. I am going to leave it at that.

Conclusion: Enjoy your sex life if you are married. If you are no longer able to have children, then I don't see a problem with showing love towards your partner.

Interesting note: Don't you find it kind of weird how there is such thing as male and female? Is there a good evolutionary explanation for this along side with the act of sex in itself and how the sperm and egg meat the way they do? Very interesting.

When an Atheist asks for proof or evidence for God.

Just what will be convincing enough for an Atheist to finally say "okay, you got me there. That is pretty interesting". I've tried Biblical history, archeology, prophecy, etc. The list honestly goes on. I've given good, rational arguments for the existence of God even, yet they still reject it? Is it not good enough? I for one, haven't one showed how it isn't good enough. They only reject it with there personal issues. This convinces me more Atheists really aren't intellectual and refuse to accept the idea of God. It is pure rejection of God. They are biased. They really won't convert if you give them excellent evidence!

So, I have now decided that I will not even bother with those who reject my evidence and I encourage other Christians to do so. We don't need to prove anything or even give evidence. Even though Christianity is a reasonable faith, it still is simply a faith.

You see, that is the first mistake the Atheist makes. They want evidence. At first this may not seem so bad because why wouldn't we want evidence to believe in something? But Theists believe God is a spirit. If showing you all the things I've said above at the beginning of this blog is not good enough, then what kind of evidence or proof this spirit exists? How can we prove a spirit? The only way we can do that is if we physically show you Him, which we can't.

To all the Atheists that read this, please consider good rational arguments and other various ways of showing you why we Theists believe what we believe.

The burden of proof and Atheism

This blog is only directed to those Atheists who have made claims. So don't think this blog is suggesting that the burden of proof relies on all Atheists.

The burden of proof, lies on the one who makes the claim. If I made the claim that God does exist, I would need to prove that, granted. However, what if the Atheist made a claim like "there is no god"? That is a claim, no? Is the burden of proof now on them? I think so. To claim that there is no god is a claim that has certainty in it. If an Atheist makes such a claim, he/she is saying it with assurance, as if they know. But they simply don't. So how do they make such a statement? I believe it to be on blind faith.

Why am I the one who has faith to say God exists when it takes just as much faith to say there isn't? Both, do indeed, take faith to say such things. Both are statements of faith. If one says there is no god, he/she would have to demonstrate how there isn't or give a good argument that there isn't. If they are unable to, then why should we give good arguments? To claim there is no god you would surely need to know everything in order to say such a thing. If you did know everything, then you would have a characteristic of a god. Meaning it would be circular reasoning to say god does not exist because you might be a god!

The resurrection of Jesus Christ

The majority of scholars who study the New Testament or Christology all agree that Jesus was indeed a real historical man. That is not the debate. The real debate is if Jesus really did rise from the dead or not, as the Bible claims. In this blog, I will be showing you why the resurrection of Jesus Christ is unique.

You will find it surprising that Jesus' resurrection actually is rooted in history and facts. I can't say I know of any documents that state this other than the Bible, but we still can assume and come to reasonable conclusions that what the Bible says actually is true. Keep in mind, the New Testament is many documents all testifying to the same thing. Within these documents, it contains interesting things, such as embarrassments, conversions, etc.

Was this all made up though? We must ask ourselves, why would this be made up? Power? Nobody was gaining any type of power over anyone. It didn't benefit anyone. The disciples and early church were all killed for there beliefs. Would they be willing to die for a lie? Something that they knew was made up or a lie? I don't think so. As I already said, the gospels contain embarrassing stories in them. Such as some of the disciples denial of Jesus. Would they put this in there made up story on purpose? And if they were trying to sell this new religion, would they say women discovered the tomb empty? In first century Palestine, women's testimonies were not listened to and already ruled out. But why does the Bible say women discovered the tomb? Wouldn't that hurt there case if they were trying to get converts? Let me answer some objections that many have proposed for the resurrection of Jesus.

Claim: The body was stolen.

Response: Nobody had the time or chance to steal Jesus' body. Keep in mind, there were guards guarding the tomb at the time. And this still doesn't answer why people claimed to see the risen Jesus. You know, the Jews didn't deny that Jesus' tomb was empty, but they too suggested the body was stolen.

Claim: The women went to the wrong tomb.

Response: After they discovered the tomb, they went back and told people. The disciples went to the tomb and they too said it was empty. Did they go to the wrong tomb again? What are the chances of them going to the same wrong tomb as the women did?

Claim: Jesus only appeared to die.

Response: I think we can all agree that this seems unlikely. If Jesus really did die by crucifixion, then of course there is no way of Him surviving.

Christ's resurrection is what started Christianity. We already know that this new faith was not "made up" to control people. They were gaining nothing and it did not benefit them. 500 people converted right then and there when they saw the risen Jesus and they all were willing to die for it. Would they die for a lie?

Is Christianity pagan?

In this blog, I will be refuting the claims from the movie Zeitgeist and other claims going around saying that Christianity is nothing more but a rip off from pagan myths.

One thing that has been going around on the internet is a movie called "Zeitgeist". It seems it has became one of the most popular internet movies. For skeptics, this is just what they need, but for Christians, it may offend them. I really do hope that no one's faith was destroyed in this movie. But, I had to find out if this movie was really telling the truth. Now, I just wanted to say that it HAS been refuted and everything pretty much in it is a lie. I discussed this briefly on another blog talking about atheism and I gave some helpful links which I will provide at the end of this blog.

Okay, the movie shows us and tells us about how Jesus is not the only "mythological" character in this world that was born of a virgin, died and resurrected. They say that Jesus is just the most resent character that is being used when there has been many other characters like him. Such as Horus. Krishna, Dionysus, Attis and Mithra (Mithras). This movie has horrible, flat out errors in it and who ever made it obviously was desperate to try to bring down the Christian faith. Although I do agree with part 2 of the film, I must say that part 1 was pretty out of the blue. Speaking of which, part 2 talks about a New World Order and the microchip, which was foretold in the Bible, so the movie only is strengthening me faith if anything. That's what I mean when I say I do not think the narrator knows what he is talking about. The Bible has prophecy in it and I don't think you can refute that. So if the Old Testament prophesied Jesus, it everything came true, then it must be true. Now all you none believers out there are probably saying to yourself "Did it ever occur to you that they made up Jesus and fit the Old Testament prophecies?" Well, there are several things wrong with that. Some things the Bible prophesied CAN'T be carried out by men to make it look true. In fact, the majority of it is irrefutable. So of course I take it seriously and every prophecy besides the end times prophecy, has indeed come true and there is proof of that.

The ones who inspired Zeitgeist were part of the occult, and involved in masonry. I will provide links at the bottom of this page to show the flaws and the lies in Zeitgeist, the movie. I went over this topic a little bit in one of my other blogs, however, I discussed the trinity and why I believe it is not pagan. I will now list the true characteristics of the deities that Zeitgeist has brought forth.

Zeitgeist gives a list of characters that are supposed like Jesus Christ and that pre-date Christianity. The list that they present are Horus, Attis, Krishna, Dionysus and Mithra(s). I have looked at a few of these supposed other deities and from what I understand, they are not like Jesus Christ and had no way of being the inspiration of Christianity. Skeptics even give me Aztec mythology and try to say that it is an inspiration to Christianity. Think of the logic in that. The narrator says that all these characters have similar things in common and is based on astronomy. This is simply not true. I will give videos on this topic when the website works. But for now, I am just going to give a list of what these deities are really like.

Horus:

The narrator calls Horus “the sun god of Egypt around 3000 BC.” The narrator also asserts that the Horus myth is based on the sun’s movement through the sky being anthropomorphized.

Horus, according to the narrator, was associated with light and Horus’ enemy, Set, was associated with darkness.

Response: This is a far too simplistic representation of myths concerning Horus.
In reality, there were many versions of “Horus.” I always thought Ra was the sun god, but I could be mistaken.

Claim: Horus was born on of a virgin on December 25.

Response: Horus' mother Isis, impregnated herself by putting together Horus' father, Osiris' body back together after being dead. She hovered over his body and was impregnated by Osiris' sperm. I don't see how that was a virgin birth because it invovled a male. No holy spirit was involved. I am pretty sure there is no mention of Horus and December 25. Even if this were true, so what? There is no mention in the Bible that Christ was born on December 25. Ask any scholar and he/she will tell you Christ was more than likely born in September.

Claim: Horus was a teacher at the age of 12.

Response: Where in what source states this?

Claim: Horus had 12 disciples.

Response: I highly doubt that he 12. I am sure he had disciples, yes. But why does that matter? If you claim to be a god, of course you will get followers. Even Jewish teachers had followers. But did Horus have exactly 12? Doubt it.

Claim: Horus was baptized by Anup at the age 30.

Response: Which source states this? Did baptism even come from come from Egypt? Muslims wash there hands before they pray, Buddhists wash too, and Christians wash there whole body. Even if some type a water ritual was involved in Egyptian rituals, it doesn't matter.

Claim: Horus preformed miracles and healings.

Response: If you make up a story of a deity, you will include miracles. This has no influence on Christianity. Horus did not walk on water, Horus did not turn water into wine. If anything, the teachings of Christ has more reliability then any of these claims that Horus did this and that.

Claim: Horus was known as the "truth, the light, the way, lamb of god, the good shepherd so on.

Response: What pre-New testament source states this? I was very surprised when they claimed he was known as the lamb of god. There was more than one god in Egyptian mythology, he was not called the lamb of Osiris, he was known as the lamb of god? Lie. We get the whole "lamb" of god because the Jews use to sacrifice lambs and goats to god in the Old Testament.

Claim: Horus was betrayed, captured, crucified and after 3 days, resurrected

Response: Which pre-New Testament source states any of this?

Attis:

Claim: Attis was born of a virgin on December 25.

Response: There is no mention of December 25 and Attis. He was not born of a virgin, he was born from a tree by the result of Zeus' spilled sperm.

Claim: Attis was crucifed, placed in a tomb and thus, resurrected.

Response: Which pre-New Testament source states any of this?

Krishna:

Claim: Krishna was born of a virgin on December 25.

Response: I went to a Hindu's youtube page to see if this claim was true. According to a practicing Hindu, he was not born of a virgin and the date is unknown. Krishna's mother and father was placed in prison, and they had many kids before Krishna.

Dr. Edward Bryant, professor of Hinduism said this about the claims that Krishna was crucified. "That is absolute non-sense. There is absolutely no mention anywhere which alludes to a crucifixion."

He also mentions that Krishna was killed by an arrow from a hunter, he died and there was no resurrection. He also said that Acharya S's does not know what she is talking about and that there are no Indian gods that were crucified. Acharya claims that there are 24 comparisons of Krishna to Jesus. Dr. Edward Bryant said that 14 of her 24 comparisons are wrong. What about all the others? Well, Benjamin Walker in his book "The Hindu World" states that there can be no doubt that the Hindu's borrowed from Christianity.

Buddha:

Acharya lists 18 similarities in which led Mike Licona to Email Professor Chu-fang Yu, who specializes in Chinese Buddhism. She said "None of the 18 similarities are correct. A few, however have some correctness in them, but are badly distorted."

Chu-fang Yu said the following about Acharya S

"The woman you speak of is totally ignorant of Buddhist. It is very dangerous to spread misinformation like this. You should not honor her by engaging in a discussion. Please ask her to take a basic course in world religion or in Buddhism before uttering another word about things she does not know."

Dionysus:

Claim: Dionysus was born of a virgin:

Response: There are actually 2 known accounts of Dionysus' birth. From what I heard, they are not similar to Jesus.

Once again, I highly doubt that this deity is like Jesus at all. There are no mentions of him doing this and that like Jesus did. Dionysus was not crucified, he was killed by the titans. Apparently he was torn to pieces, and was put back together by Zeus. I am not sure if he was resurrected, his body was only preserved.

Mithra:

Claim: Mithra was born of a virgin on December 25.

Response: Mithra was born from a rock fully mature. I am not sure if he was born on December 25. What I read said he was, but that doesn't matter because Jesus wasn't born on December 25.

Just like all the other deities, I doubt Mithra had any inspiration to Christianity.

Claim: Mithra was crucified, after 3 days, resurrected.

Response: Mithra didn't even die, he was taken up to heaven in a chariot of fire. So there is no need for a resurrection.

Claim: Mithra was known as the way, the truth and the life. The messiah and so on.

Response: Which pre- New Testament source states this? I found this laughable. The messiah? That word comes from Hebrew, how can Mithra be called that? Even if he was referred to the messiah, it isn't a big deal. It doesn't pre-date the Bible. If you look at the messianic prophecies, you will see that Jesus was fulfilled all of them, Jesus is the messiah.

Acharya S's book "The Christ Conspiracy" which is Zeitgeist main source. Don't you find it funny how Zeitgeist has no good source besides people's books?

I want to talk about other stories and if Christianity really is pagan. Then I will give you links to see the other mythological characters been refuted.

The Trinity, pagan?
I have watched a video on youtube with this guy talking about how the trinity has been around, taught, in many other cultures such as Babylon and Egypt. The Christian trinity is way different and not like the pagan trinities (there are some). He said that the whole concept of God being 3 in 1, having the father, the son and the holy spirit has been believed before in the past. This is simply not true, I would like to see one case of that. Even if so, of course there might be similarities (which I will get to in a moment) but more than likely it has been fabricated to fit a lie. There are pagan trinities. But they usually consist of a father, a mother and a son. Now you might say "It may be different but people who made up the trinity took something like "the mother" and just made it into a holy spirit". I just want to say that the Christian trinity is way different and Im going to explain. Yes, there are pagan trinities, but is the Christian trinity really stolen? I say no, not because I am a Christian but because there is not enough strong evidence of this being so. Christianity teaches that the father, the son, and the holy spirit are 3 different beings but all one. I know that sounds impossible but I will provide you with videos trying to help you understand. Sadly, many Christians reject this teaching. There IS Biblical evidence, using verses telling about how Jesus is God in the flesh. No other pagan trinity teaches that. Although I say how they use a pyramid to teach the trinity is a little satanic, but that doesn't mean that the father and the son and the holy spirit aren't one. The old testament even teaches the trinity, which leads me to my next point. The Jews have been around for a long time, but Babylon and Egypt has been around longer, so the Jews must of stolen it off of them because they are close. Well, the Jews dont even realize that the God of Israel is the trinity. They only worship him, alone. There are Old Testament Bible verses showing Jesus appearing in pre- carnated form. Verses like "Let us go down and create them in our image" and "Let us go down and confuse there language" shows that the trinity has always existed. The Jews dont even realize, and they reject Jesus (there own God of Israel). Meaning that the father, the son and the holy spirit created the heavens and the Earth. As a Christian, I say that Satan knew about the trinity (of course) and went around in ancient cultures teaching false trinities. Same goes for these other mythological characters that supposedly similar to Jesus.

Bottom line, it's simply not true. There is no other like Jesus, because he is the way, the life and the TRUTH. He is God.

Oh and as far as the Catholic church, yes they did steal pagan traditions and added them to there church. Dont take mans words for it, take God's word, the Bible. The Bible doesn't teach or say anything that is being taught to many people. Things like Christmas and Easter. Not that you shouldn't honor those day for God, but the traditions of it is pagan added by men. Anything that contradicts the Bible, is a false teaching. And over time they tried to make it official and put it in Gods word, wonder why. Maybe because God said that nobody will add or take away from this book or they would be punished.

In this part of the blog, I am just going to cover other stories in the Bible that are supposed copy off of other stories.

Noah's Ark:

A great flood was foretold in many different legends. Some of the best known accounts are found in the Sumerian (talked a little about this in one of my previous blogs) and Babylonian texts. Actually, there are 200+ legends and stories found around the world of a great flood. With this, and a supposed giant boat on the Mountains of Ararat, just like the Bible said were it landed, I say there is overwhelming evidence of a flood. All these legends and stories pretty much tell the same thing, how a flood took place and a man and his family took animals on a boat and survived it. How could all these stories be found world wide, yet people dismiss it as a fairy tale? Maybe the reason why there are so many legends about this, there was one! But which one was original. many believe, because the Sumerian and Babylonian tablets came before the Bible, that the Bible is a copy. But is this true? I would have to argue no, it is not. Lets suppose a flood did happen and the the Biblical account of the flood is true, do you realize that the other legends are just copies off of the truth? Genesis means generations, so if the Jewish god did really do all this in Genesis, the others are copies. I mean it had to start from somewhere, right? I think the Biblical text fits it best. if I am not mistaken, they have found tablets which are the same date (possibly pre-dating these other legends) of a flood that a god caused.

Moses:

There are supposed other characters, like Moses, that was placed in a basket, set adrift in a river to avoid infanticide and then rescued and raised by royalty. Another claim is that characters, such as Manou of India, Minos of Crete, and Mises of Egypt were given a law from a god. It has been proven, by recorded dates that these stories of these characters were really after Moses. The reason why Moses received a law was because of the Jewish people. Many of these other legends doesn't include a law, or a god giving them. The funny thing too is that some do not pre-date the story of Moses.

Amen-Ra. origin of the word Amen?:

Yes there was an ancient Egyptian god named Ra. He was later called Amen-Ra. Could it be that it was changed after the Jews came up with the word? Or did the Jews steal from the name of this god? From what I understand, the actually name of Amen-Ra was spelled differently. Amon, Amun, Ammon, and Amounra are examples. Many scholars believe the word Amen started even before Egypt. The root of this word comes from the Hebrew word aman, which means "truth" or "so be it". If this word is said in Hebrew, it means something totally different. If this word does have pagan roots, it still does not matter. It doesn't prove a thing! If a Christian says the word amen, it does not involve a different god, it only means "truth" or "so it bet". I hope anyone who reads this gets my point.

The Tower of Babel:

Because I study religion, I would have to agree somewhat to those who claim all religion has similarities. As I said in previous blogs, a lot of traditions and festivals do have pagan roots, but this has nothing to do with Biblical Christianity. My explanation for why many religions have similarities goes back to the story of Babel described in the Bible. There are other ancient records confirming that this tower existed. Instead of this somehow debunking the Jewish faith, it only confirms the Bibles truth more! According to the Bible, every human being spoke one language, and were all the same races. They made a great city and built a great tower so that they would not be separated. They all had the same belief. The Bible says that God confused there language and spread them across the earth after they started plotting against each other. This one belief soon was spread across the earth in different languages and cultures. After time went by, there are strony differences, but also small similarities. To say that all religions have the similarities or pagan roots is only supporting the Bible. This is the reason why creation stories found around the world have similarities too. But this does not debunk Christianity. Once again, lets suppose that the Bible really is true and the word of the true living god. Do you realize that the people of the tower and the birth of false religions only copied from the Bible instead of the other way around?!

Genesis, Genes of Isis?:

I am only going to keep this one short. The first book in the Torah is indeed Genesis, but it is not it's original name. Genesis means "In the beginning". And indeed the first book of the Bible tells about a beginning. So those who claim that Genesis means "Genes of Isis" fail to make a point.

The cross:

So many people say the cross is pagan. Of course it is pagan. The Bible does not say that the cross is a holy symbol that Christianity started. The cross was also a tool used by the Romans to execute people and it just so happens that Jesus was crucified on it. Many believe that Jesus wasn't even crucified on a cross, but on a tree or an upright steak. It is unsure, I would have to say it was a cross because Romans used the cross to kill people on it.

Baptism:

I already showed you above that deities like Horus was not baptized but from what I know there have been claims about Osiris as well about baptism. Many say that baptism has pagan roots all the way back to ancient Egyptian times. I have done research and I found found out that there are other religions and cultures that involve water or in a sense like baptism. But is it like Christian baptism? Hindu's and Buddhists use water. The Hindu's wash themselves in a river, to wash away there sins and pure them for a day, but does this mean Christianity stole off of them? Buddhists wash there hands before they pray, just like Muslims, but does that mean Christianity stole from them? Certainly not. It is quite obvious here that water is important in all the main world religions. After all, people feel refresh after they take showers or wash themselves, so it would make sense that there is some type of water ritual involved in a religions belief. Jesus talked strongly about the baptism of the holy spirit, so if you ask me, this whole pagan baptism stuff does not concern Christianity!

Is there an secular, out of the Bible evidence that Jesus existed?

Many skeptics say there isn't even historical evidence of a man named Jesus (Yeshua) who lived. I would have to disagree. I believe the Bible is a document itself! Here you got all these scriptures in the New testament and even lost scriptures talking about a man named Jesus. I highly doubt all this came together for a giant scheme. Roman historian, Tacitus and Jewish historian Josephus being the strongest people who claim a man named Jesus existed. There are about a dozen sources for him, within about a hundred or a hundred and a half years, after the ministry of Jesus. And these report aspects, all the way through his life. You might think that these secular sources shy away divine attributions of Jesus. But they really don't! For example, a roman governor tells us that Christians use gather together in a particular day of the week before dawn to sing praises to Jesus, as on to a god. A even earlier source, written by someone who reports Mediterranean history tells about a miracle. he talks about the darkness that surrounded the world when Jesus died. 2/3 of sources tell that he died. We really do have good historical evidence of him existing. Non-Christians scholars reject the claim that he never existed.

Conclusion: Christianity is not pagan. Writers and teachers don't have real sources to back up there claims. There are non like Jesus Christ. Jesus has too much prophecy to back him up. The big difference between Jesus and all of these deities is this....Jesus saves lives! The only threat, if anything was Horus, because he predates the Bible. But what doesn't matter because he is nothing like Jesus! Prophecy foretold what Jesus would be like in the Old Testament, so even if these characters are like Jesus, satan went around and lied of what the real messiah would be like. In fact, the movie brought that up and they made it sound sarcastic.

Does science conflict with the Bible?

Science by definition means to find truth. I completely agree with that, and the truth points toward an intelligent creation. In today's society, they say the same thing, only they tell you how to do it. If it doesn't agree with secular humanistic views, then it is wrong and anyone who believe otherwise is delusional. People automatically think that intelligent design and creationism is religion, and evolution is science so therefore we must listen to science. For one, intelligent design is not creationism, non-Christians believe in intelligent design. For two, does the evidence point toward evolution? These past years amazing discoveries have been bringing question to Darwin's theory of evolution. I think to a certain point, it comes down to this, people don't want a divine foot involved because they don't want a being that is more powerful and smarter than they are and a being that can judge them for the way they live there life. We see today secular humanism taking over. There propaganda is everywhere. They block out God and try to get people to give up on the idea of god. This is why today God is slowly being removed from public. The Bible says they profess themselves to be wise but later become fools. It doesn't matter how many PH.D's someone ha, they are missing the main point in life.

You guys like science huh? Then lets do some science. You can't disagree with this if you are a scientist. If you disagree with the Bible, then you must not be a scientist. Let's look at some verses.

-The Bible frequently refers to the great number of stars in the heavens. Here are two examples.

Genesis 22:17
"Blessing I will bless you, and multiplying I will multiply your descendants as the stars of the heaven and as the sand which is on the seashore; and your descendants shall possess the gate of their enemies."

Jeremiah 33:22
"As the host of heaven cannot be numbered, nor the sand of the sea measured, so will I multiply the descendants of David My servant and the Levities who minister to Me."

Even today, scientists admit that they do not know how many stars there are. Only about 3,000 can be seen with the naked eye. We have seen estimates of 1021 stars—which is a lot of stars. (The number of grains of sand on the earth's seashores is estimated to be 1025. As scientists discover more stars, wouldn't it be interesting to discover that these two numbers match?)

-The Bible also says that each star is unique.

1 Corinthians 15:41
"There is one glory of the sun, another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars; for one star differs from another star in glory."

All stars look alike to the naked eye.* Even when seen through a telescope, they seem to be just points of light. However, analysis of their light spectra reveals that each is unique and different from all others.[1] (*Note: We understand that people can perceive some slight difference in color and apparent brightness when looking at stars with the naked eye, but we would not expect a person living in the first century A.D. to claim they differ from one another.)

-The Bible describes the precision of movement in the universe.

Jeremiah 31:35,36
"Thus says the LORD,
Who gives the sun for a light by day,
The ordinances of the moon and the stars for a light by night,
Who disturbs the sea,
And its waves roar
(The LORD of hosts is His name):
"If those ordinances depart
From before Me, says the LORD,
Then the seed of Israel shall also cease
From being a nation before Me forever."

- The Bible describes the suspension of the Earth in space.

Job 26:7
"He stretches out the north over empty space;
He hangs the earth on nothing."

- The Bible describes the circulation of the atmosphere.

Ecclesiastes 1:6
"The wind goes toward the south,
And turns around to the north;
The wind whirls about continually,
And comes again on its circuit."

- The Bible includes some principles of fluid dynamics.

Job 28:25
"To establish a weight for the wind,
And apportion the waters by measure."

The fact that air has weight was proven scientifically only about 300 years ago. The relative weights of air and water are needed for the efficient functioning of the world's hydro logic cycle, which in turn sustains life on the earth. (If you are a physics enthusiast, please ignore our omission of the terms mass, gravity, and density from this comment.)

- The book of Leviticus (written prior to 1400 BC) describes the value of blood.

Leviticus 17:11
'For the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it to you upon the altar to make atonement for your souls; for it is the blood that makes atonement for the soul.'

The blood carries water and nourishment to every cell, maintains the body's temperature, and removes the waste material of the body's cells. The blood also carries oxygen from the lungs throughout the body. In 1616, William Harvey discovered that blood circulation is the key factor in physical life—confirming what the Bible revealed 3,000 years earlier.

- The Bible describes biogenesis (the development of living organisms from other living organisms) and the stability of each kind of living organism.

Genesis 1:11,12
"Then God said, "Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb that yields seed, and the fruit tree that yields fruit according to its kind, whose seed is in itself, on the earth"; and it was so. And the earth brought forth grass, the herb that yields seed according to its kind, and the tree that yields fruit, whose seed is in itself according to its kind. And God saw that it was good."

Genesis 1:21
"So God created great sea creatures and every living thing that moves, with which the waters abounded, according to their kind, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good."

Genesis 1:25
"And God made the beast of the earth according to its kind, cattle according to its kind, and everything that creeps on the earth according to its kind. And God saw that it was good."

The phrase "according to its kind" occurs repeatedly, stressing the reproductive integrity of each kind of animal and plant. Today we know this occurs because all of these reproductive systems are programmed by their genetic codes.

- The Bible describes the chemical nature of flesh.

Genesis 2:7
"And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being."

Genesis 3:19
" In the sweat of your face you shall eat bread
Till you return to the ground,
For out of it you were taken;
For dust you are,
And to dust you shall return."

It is a proven fact that a person's mental and spiritual health is strongly correlated with physical health.[1] The Bible revealed this to us with these statements (and others) written by King Solomon about 950 BC.

Proverbs 12:4
"An excellent wife is the crown of her husband,
But she who causes shame is like rottenness in his bones."

Proverbs 14:30
" A sound heart is life to the body,
But envy is rottenness to the bones."

Proverbs 15:30
"The light of the eyes rejoices the heart,
And a good report makes the bones healthy."

Proverbs 16:24
" Pleasant words are like a honeycomb,
Sweetness to the soul and health to the bones."

Proverbs 17:22
"A merry heart does good, like medicine,
But a broken spirit dries the bones."

They have cave paintings and other evidence that people inhabited caves. The Bible also describes cave men.

Job 30:5,6
"They were driven out from among men,
They shouted at them as at a thief.
They had to live in the clefts of the valleys,
In caves of the earth and the rocks."

Note that these were not ape-men, but descendants of those who scattered from Babel. They were driven from the community by those tribes who competed successfully for the more desirable regions of the earth. Then for some reason they deteriorated mentally, physically, and spiritually. (Go into a bad part of your town and you will see this concept in action today.)

- The bible includes reasonably complete descriptions of the hydrologic cycle.

Psalm 135:7
" He causes the vapors to ascend from the ends of the earth;
He makes lightning for the rain;
He brings the wind out of His treasuries."

Jeremiah 10:13
"When He utters His voice,
There is a multitude of waters in the heavens:
"And He causes the vapors to ascend from the ends of the earth.
He makes lightning for the rain,
He brings the wind out of His treasuries."

In these verses you can see several phases of the hydrologic cycle—the worldwide processes of evaporation, translation aloft by atmospheric circulation, condensation with electrical discharges, and precipitation.

Job 36:27-29
" For He draws up drops of water,
Which distill as rain from the mist,
Which the clouds drop down
And pour abundantly on man.
Indeed, can anyone understand the spreading of clouds,
The thunder from His canopy?"

This simple verse has remarkable scientific insight. The drops of water which eventually pour down as rain first become vapor and then condense to tiny liquid water droplets in the clouds. These finally coalesce into drops large enough to overcome the updrafts that suspend them in the air.

- The Bible describes the recirculation of water.

Ecclesiastes 1:7
"All the rivers run into the sea,
Yet the sea is not full;
To the place from which the rivers come,
There they return again."

Isaiah 55:10
" For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven,
And do not return there,
But water the earth,
And make it bring forth and bud,
That it may give seed to the sower
And bread to the eater."

- The Bible refers to the surprising amount of water that can be held as condensation in clouds.

Job 26:8
"He binds up the water in His thick clouds,
Yet the clouds are not broken under it."

Job 37:11
"Also with moisture He saturates the thick clouds;
He scatters His bright clouds."

- The Bible describes the Earth's crust (along with a comment on astronomy).

Jeremiah 31:37
Thus says the LORD:
"If heaven above can be measured,
I will also cast off all the seed of Israel
For all that they have done, says the LORD."

Although some scientists claim that they have now measured the size of the universe, it is interesting to note that every human attempt to drill through the earth's crust to the plastic mantle beneath has, thus far, ended in failure.

- The Bible described the shape of the earth centuries before people thought that the earth was spherical.

Isaiah 40:22
" It is He who sits above the circle of the earth,
And its inhabitants are like grasshoppers,
Who stretches out the heavens like a curtain,
And spreads them out like a tent to dwell in."

The word translated "circle" here is the Hebrew word chuwg which is also translated "circuit," or "compass" (depending on the context). That is, it indicates something spherical, rounded, or arched—not something that is flat or square.

The book of Isaiah was written sometime between 740 and 680 BC. This is at least 300 years before Aristotle suggested that the earth might be a sphere in this book On the Heavens.

This brings up an important historical note related to this topic. Many people are aware of the conflict between Galileo and the Roman Catholic Pope, Paul V. After publishing A Dialogue on the Two Principal Systems of the World, Galileo was summoned to Rome, where he was forced to renounce his findings. (At that time, "theologians" of the Roman Catholic Church maintained that the Earth was the center of the universe, and to assert otherwise was deemed heretical.)

We could not find any place in the Bible that claims that the Earth is flat, or that it is the center of the universe. History shows that this conflict, which took place at the time of the Inquisition, was part of a power struggle. As a result, scientific and biblical knowledge became casualties—an effect we still feel to this day. Scientists only found out not to long ago that the universe is expanding! Just like the verse said!

- The Bible suggests the presence of nuclear processes like those we associate with nuclear weaponry. This is certainly not something that could have been explained in 67 AD using known scientific principles (when Peter wrote the following verse).

2 Peter 3:10
"But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up."

The television is a practical (if not always worthwhile smile ) device that uses electromagnetic waves (which transmit its video signal). The Bible contains passages that describe something like television—something that allows everyone on earth see a single event. (Note: such passages typically refer to the end of time. It may not be long before all of us learn for sure whether the Bible is true or not.)

Matthew 24:30
"Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory."

Revelation 11:9-11
"Then those from the peoples, tribes, tongues, and nations will see their dead bodies three-and-a-half days, and not allow their dead bodies to be put into graves. And those who dwell on the earth will rejoice over them, make merry, and send gifts to one another, because these two prophets tormented those who dwell on the earth. Now after the three-and-a-half days the breath of life from God entered them, and they stood on their feet, and great fear fell on those who saw them."

- Things In The Bible That Science Can Not Explain

In the last 100 years (and especially in the last ten) scientists discovered many proofs that confirm the Bible's accuracy. Since these proofs support the accuracy of the text we can understand scientifically, it makes sense to trust the Bible's text that we can not yet understand. (For example, how many people knew what hydrothermal vents were 30 years ago?) If you would like to see the proof we have for the accuracy of the Bible.

I want to know how someone, like the people in the Bible knew about all this that long ago. I can go on and on. It's not a fairy tale people, it's something else, maybe... the word of the true living God! You just can't refute this, it's true. The only alternative of evolution is..... creation. You pick. With all this, plus prophecy, I would say the Bible is the truth.

The debunking of skeptical claims on Biblical science:

These are some things people bring up:

The Bat:

They say that the Bible calls a bat a bird. Is this true? Yes, the Bible does in Leviticus and Deuteronomy. But what exactly is a bat? Leviticus and Deuteronomy was written in Hebrew originally. In the Hebrew language, the word "bird" means "owner of a wing". So a bird, bat and dinosaurs counts as a bird in the Hebrew LANGUAGE.

The unicorn:

The Bible does mention a unicorn a lot. If you are a Young Earth creationist, you might suggest that the unicorn is a dinosaur. Even if this is true, there is still many other animals that would be considered a unicorn. People are actually ignorant of what a unicorn actually is. No, it is not a white pony with a magical horn, it is just a creature with a horn. Unicorn means "1 horn". So this creature could be a rhino, or anything with a horn.

Giants:

I do believe giants use to live on Earth. There is evidence of this and the Bible clearly talks about them. We find bones, tools, drawings and carvings all over the place. There is even legends found around the world about giants. The Hindu's believe that there gods originally created giants that could pull trees out of the ground is how they are described. Ancient Greece believed in the "titans". Could these be fables? Or were there really giant men? There structures, forts and everything showing evidence that it was probably built by giants. Some even believe they found places were giants might of stayed. I think there is overwhelming evidence that giants existed.

Does the Bible teach a flat earth?
Many people give a bad rap for Christians for thinking they believe in a flat Earth. This is just simple not true and I find it very silly. For one, we do have photographs of the Earth and it is indeed spherical. I think a spherical Earth only shows the power and handy work of God. It is like a basketball, we know someone designed that ball, so someone had to of designed this big ball we call Earth.

The verses that skeptics throw at us involves sayings like "the ends of the earth" or the "four corners of the earth". Yes, many verses do say these, but it does not mean literal ends or corners of the earth.

It is translated "borders" in Numbers 15:38. In Ezekiel 7:2 it is translated "four corners" and again in Isaiah 11:12 "four corners." Job 37:3 and 38:13 as "ends."

The Greek equivalent in Revelation 7:1 is gonia. The Greek meaning is perhaps more closely related to our modern divisions known as quadrants. Gonia literally means angles, or divisions. It is customary to divide a map into quadrants as shown by the four directions.

Some have tried to ridicule the Bible to say that it teaches that the earth is square. The Scripture makes it quite clear that the earth is a sphere (Isaiah 40:22).

"He sits enthroned above the circle of the earth, and its people are like grasshoppers. He stretches out the heavens like a canopy, and spreads them out like a tent to live in." - Isaiah 40:22

Many skeptics will even object this. They say it says "circle" of the earth. Yes, it does, but did you know that this verse was originally written in Hebrew. The Hebrew word "Khung" literally means "sphere". So what that verse really says is "He sits enthroned above the SPHERE of the earth." How did someone like Isaiah, that long go know the Earth was spherical? That verse it taken completely out of context.

There are many ways in which God could have said corner. Any of the following Hebrew words could have been used:

- Pinoh is used in reference to the cornerstone.
- Paioh means "a geometric corner"
- Ziovyoh means "right angle" or "corner"
- Krnouth refers to a projecting corner.
- Paamouth - If the Lord wanted to convey the idea of a square, four-cornered earth, the Hebrew word paamouth could have been used. Paamouth means square.

Instead, God selected the word kanaph, conveying the idea of extremity.

" He stretches out the north over empty space; He hangs the earth on nothing." - Job 26:7

Does the Bible say that the Earth is supported on pillars?:

"Which shaketh the earth out of her place, and the pillars thereof tremble." - Job 9:6

There is another verse were it talks about these "pillars". I dont think it literally talks about pillars supporting Earth. Pillars could be rock under the earth, and in some cases, pillars could even mean kings or rulers.

The Bible is very vague, and to a certain point, I think has it vague for a good reason. But science doesnt have ANYTHING against the Bible. They only agree, I think the Bible has a lot of science in it and that is why I believe the Bible is inspired by the creator.

Explaining the trinity

Many people question the concept of the trinity, and I see why, it is a very confusing concept. Thats why many people dont believe in it. I am typing this blog for everyone. Muslims and non-trinitarians. . There are so many Biblical passages showing God is triune in His nature, and I will show you them.

The big question: How can God be three yet one. Or how can he be one, yet three?

Response: Well, God chooses to reveal himself in 3 different persons. A Father, a Son and a Holy Spirit. Why you ask? Its for the better. I mean thing about it. Not only was the Son (Jesus) on Earth dying for our sins, but there was a Father in Heaven to answer our prayers and provide for us, and a Holy Spirit over the Earth to guide people. A god only being tri-personal could do this. Each of these persons are distinct from each other. Yet they are one, spiritually. Now to answer the question, how can three be one. Well, how can an egg have an egg shell, egg white and egg yolk yet still be considered one egg? How can there be a past, present and future and yet still be one time line? How can there be three dimensions in space, which is one? How about H20? It can take on a solid, liquid or gas form. If you had all of these in a room, we can all agree that although they are different and in different forms, that H20 is in the room.

St. Patrick used a three leaved clover to show how the Trinity is.

Here are some Biblical verses testifying the trinity. The Father, the Son and the Holy spirit was the god of the Old and new Testament.

"Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters." - Genesis 1:2

So, in this verse, the second verse in the whole Bible, it reveals God and the spirit of God. He has already show us something about his nature, He is a personal God and a spirit.

"Then God said, "Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground." - Genesis 1:26

Who is God speaking to here? Is it angels, or is the Father talking to the Son and the Holy Spirit? I've often heard that this is a majestic plural, however, people still don't deny it is plural!

"Come, let Us go down and there confuse their language, so that they will not understand one anothers speech." - Genesis 11:7

Same case.

"For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one." - 1 John 5:7

Conclusion: The God of the Bible is triune in nature and if anyone disagrees with that, they disagree with the Bible, period.

God bless.

The Jews, the Torah and Jesus Christ

In this blog I will be talking about the Torah, the purpose of it, who it was for and why.

The Torah was given to the children of Israel for a specific reason and for a specific time only. God chose the Israelites to show the world who He is. God wanted the nation of Israel to stand out from all the other nations. The Israelites were commanded things like to wash there hands with running water, to bury there waste and not to eat certain foods. Is all of this common sense? Not for the time. It is known that human waste can can spread disease. It wasn't up until the industrial revolution I think when people stopped dumping there waste out in the streets and in public. However, God commanded them to go outside of town and to bury your waste long ago. He also commanded that they should not eat certain foods such as pork because today we know that you can get seriously sick if you eat un-cooked pork. At the time this would of not been known, however, they were clearly commanded not to even touch it. You see, God wanted his people to be healthy too. This is why the nation of Israel stood out from the others with more order, as if a God was ruling there nation. God also commanded them not to have sex outside of marriage for many reasons. Sexual immorality was not something they needed to worry about. Sexually transmitted diseases were not common back then. Like I said, God wanted his people to be good, moral and healthy people. He built up the nation of Israel and kept it pure to deliver the messiah.

Yes, the Torah is part of the Bible and Gods word. But it is called "The law of Moses" or the Mosaic law for a reason. God chose Moses to give the Ten Commandments and the law at that time for the Israelites. This was all part of the covenant to the Israelites and them only. Christians do not have have to follow the old law, we are under the new covenant that Jesus established. Jesus fulfilled the old laws.

Question: But didn’t Jesus keep the Torah?

Response: Yes, he did. He preached from the Torah and was a Jew. Jesus did not come to abolish the law, but he came to fulfill it. As for the Ten commandments, Jesus only emphasized on it more. He said things like "those who lust after a woman have already committed adultery in there hearts" and "if you hate a man you have committed murder in your heart".

Question: Should we keep the Torah just like Jesus did?

Response: God wrote His law in our hearts. Of course we keep Torah, but keeping Torah does not mean to follow the old laws. The Torah was fulfilled by Jesus. He is our Torah now. There is no more Jew or gentile in Christ. We are not under law for salvation, but under Jesus Christ's grace for salvation.

Question: So where did the people before Jesus go when they died? How did they get saved?

Response: The answer is, Jesus. Jesus gave his blood for all of us, to wash away our sins. So when the Jews use to sacrifice animals a long time ago, Jesus was giving his blood. God made it clear, at the beginning of creation (!) that in order for man to atone for his/her sin, that blood needed to be shed. When Adam and Eve sinned, God killed a goat and spread its blood all over Adam and Eve. When Cain and Abel gave sacrifices to God, God only took one. Cain presented fruits and all kinds of other stuff to God when Abel gave a blood sacrifice. God took Abel’s sacrifice because it had blood. No this is not sick or evil, blood is important. So when the Jews sacrificed animals after laying there sins on that animal, they were atoning through Jesus. They use to sacrifice goats or lambs. Did you know Jesus is called the lamb of God? Jesus was a sacrifice to the Father, and when John saw a vision of God’s throne, he saw a lamb on an alter in front of God’s throne. Jesus gave his blood for us now and back then.

Conclusion: The law of Moses is not to be followed by Christians. Jesus did indeed fulfill the Torah, not destroy it. But he brought a new covenant, we are under his grace and mercy, not law anymore.

The problem of evil. Is it a problem?

Skeptics like to use the problem of evil argument against Christians because indeed, it is one of the hardest topics to debate. It is considered one of the best, if no the best arguments for the non-existence of God. But I think it fails on a couple of points, mainly because it assumes so much. The people who use this argument really don't have an understanding on who God is, what He wills and how His sovereignty works. In this blog, I will attempt to explain the problem of evil and answer some skeptical questions about it.

Before I start, I want to ask, why should God destroy evil? Is He obligated into doing any of this? God is good and the absence of good is evil. So when humanity sinned and sin separated humans from God, we got evil. Is God the one that has to clean up our mess? The answer to all of these questions is, no. But this still doesn't stop Him from fulfilling His will. There could be numbers of reasons He allows evil, and who knows, maybe if it wasn't for evil, God couldn't reveal His goodness to humanity. Also, I just want to say that the Christian God desires a relationship with His creation, no matter what the conditions of the world are. No where in the Bible does it say God want's a pretty little playground for His creation to play and have fun in. And if this is true, the reasons why He doesn't destroy evil might be correct. But let's take a look at one of the arguments concerning evil in the world a good God created.

The argument usually goes as follows:

"If God existed he would destroy evil. An all powerful God could destroy evil. Evil and suffering still exist, therefore, you're notion of a God can't possibly be as good as you say, or even exist."

Now, I like how they word this argument. "then your notion of God cannot be as good as you say". The reason why I think who ever created this argument worded it like this, is because it doesn't even logically follow, that if this argument is true, that God doesn't exist. Only our notion of God. In fact, none of the arguments concerning the problem of evil logically follows that God doesn't exist.

But, let me address one statement at a time:

"If God existed he would destroy evil".

Response: We as human beings are created with free will. God does not violate our free will. Adam and Eve chose to sin and then sin, death and evil entered into the world. Man continues to sin with his free choice. The result is an evil world. Besides, if God wanted to get rid of evil, He would have to destroy morally free beings, like us. But no, God gives us a chance to repent so that we may find peace with Him through Jesus Christ. He gives us a chance to have a relationship with Him and a chance to spend eternity with Him.

"An all powerful God could destroy evil."

Response: Indeed he could. But keep in mind, strength has nothing to do with it.

"Evil and suffering still exist, therefore, you're notion of a God can't possibly be as good as you say, or even exist."

Response: The Bible makes in clear in the first book why evil, pain and suffering exist. It is because of sin and man's disobedience towards God. Man has rejected God, and without God, our world is falling apart. It is not God's fault, it is man's. All of this is due to free will, something GOd gave us. God does not violate free will, so whatever happens, happens. But as I said above, power has nothing to do with it. Sure it would be easy to get rid of evil by using power. But in the process, He would have to destroy good and also destroy morally free creatures, like ourselves. But He doesn't. Instead, He gives us a chance to repent, so that we may get a chance to know Him and have relationship with Him. Now that's something amazing. We can't forget that God is also love. And because of this, He must reveal to anyone who seeks, His love, no matter what conditions the world is in.

Lets look at another argument that is brought up:

"Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent. Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent. Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing? Then why call him God? " - Epicurus

Response: God is both willing and able to prevent evil. Him being omnipotent has nothing to do with it, as I have stressed above.Everything I pretty much have said above can refute this argument. There could be number of reasons why God allows evil, pain and suffering in the world. So it doesn't follow that God is malevolent, this is only Epicurus' opinion. He then asks, "then whence cometh evil?" And I have already made it clear that the first book in the Bible answers why there is evil in the world.

Conclusion: God is both willing and able to prevent or destroy evil. But there are numbers of reasons why He doesn't.

Free will and predestination

As you can see by the title of this blog, I will be talking about Free will and Predestination. Does the Bible teach Free will, or Predestination? Or both?

Free will:

Free will is the ability to make choices according to your desire. Free will is of two theological viewpoints: Compatibilist and Libertarian. Compatibilism is the position that a person is only as free as his nature permits him to be free and that his sinfulness prevents him from freely choosing God (1 Cor. 2:14; Romans 3:10-12; Romans 6:14-20). Libertarian free will is the position that an unsaved sinner is still able to freely choose God in spite of his sinful nature (John 3:16; 3:36)

Predestination:

The belief in predestination can actually vary from Christian. The Calvinists have a different look on it then the Arminianists. But basically, God predestines us for salvation. But this of course brings up a question. If God has predestine us to do something, then how do I have free will?

Response: God's predestination does not mean that we cannot make free will choices. God predestines in and through our choices because God is all knowing and all powerful. He knows what we will do because he knows all things. He cannot not know all things. So, whatever you choose to do out of your own free volition is known. But his knowing doesn't mean you don't free choose.

Conclusion: The Bible teaches both free will and predestination. Free will is the ability to make choices. Our choices are limited by our physical, mental, and spiritual capabilities and God predestines us and knits us together in our mothers' womb.

Does the Bible teach a flat Earth

Does the Bible say that the Earth is supported on pillars?

"Which shaketh the earth out of her place, and the pillars thereof tremble." - Job 9:6

There is another verse were it talks about these "pillars". I dont think it literally talks about pillars supporting Earth. Pillars could be rock under the earth, and in some cases, pillars could even mean kings or rulers.

The Bible is very vague, and to a certain point, I think has it vague for a good reason. But science doesnt have ANYTHING against the Bible. They only agree, I think the Bible has a lot of science in it and that is why I believe the Bible is inspired by the creator.

Was Christianity influenced by Zoroastrianism

I have been studying Zoroastrianism. I have heard many claims, that Judaism was influenced by Zoroastrianism. And if Judaism was influenced by it, then Christianity was. In this blog, I will be taking a look at Zoroastrianism and challenge it to see if it influenced Christianity. But before I go on with this blog, let me clarify that Judaism is older than Zoroastrianism. If the Bible is true, which I believe it to be, then the same God who created the world and the Garden of Eden is the same God Christians worship today. But this will not please one who is claiming that Zoroastrianism is older and influenced Judaism. If God really did give Moses the Torah and made his covenant with the Hebrew people, then Judaism was really created some 3000 - 3500 years ago. Zoroastrianism was started in the 6th century before Christ.

Claim: Zoroastrianism influenced monotheistic beliefs.

Response: Zoroastrianism can actually be considered a Dualist belief system. They believe in a good and evil god, something vastly different then Christian theology.

Claim: The concepts of Heaven, Hell and the afterlife are much like Christianity.

Response: Afterlife in Judaism is kind of a mystery. The Tanakh isn't really clear. It only talks about a resurrection. It may have been picked up and creeped into Christian theology, but what the Bible says totally different from what Zoroastrianism teaches. As for the rest of the Bible, Hell is translated into different words on different occasions. The hellfire Jesus was speaking about was directed to the Valley of Hinnom, which was a place outside of Jerusalem that burned garbage.

Claim: The concepts of good vs evil was taught in Zoroastrianism before Judaism.

Response: Judaism is older than Zoroastrianism. But this proves nothing. Pretty much every religion in the world teaches a good and a evil. There is no way for sure to know if this kind of thought wasn't brought on by the Biblical God and satan.

Claim: Angels were believed in Zoroastrianism before Judaism.

Response: Judaism is older than Zoroastrianism. The belief in angels were around long before Zoroastrianism. The chances of Zoroastrianism borrowing the idea of angels off of Judaism are great.

Claim: The end times, Day of Judgment, and the resurrection of the dead was taught in Zoroastrianism before Judaism.

Response: The belief in all of this, was taught in the Tanakh before Zoroastrianism.

"O that thou wouldest hide me in the grave, that thou wouldest keep me secret, until thy wrath be past, that thou wouldest appoint me a set time, and remember me! If a man die, shall he live again? all the days of my appointed time will I wait, till my change come. Thou shalt call, and I will answer thee: thou wilt have a desire to the work of thine hands." - Job 14:13-15

Conclusion: If anything, Judaism influenced Zoroastrianism.

Infants and salvation

I have only mentioned infants once, in only one of my blogs. So I thought I would actually dedicate a whole blog to this subject. This subject however, has to be one of the most difficult of all the Christian topics because many Christians have different views on infants. It is also difficult because the Bible doesn't give a direct answer on this very simple, yet important issue people want to know. But God does not leave us in the dark. I am going to provide Biblical scripture and try to present a understanding on infants and there salvation.

Big question: If Original Sin is true, then when a baby dies, where does he/she go?

Response: We must figure out what is "Original sin". Is Original Sin a genetic defect? Or did death and sin simply enter into the world at the fall of man? The Bible does indeed say through Adam, we have all fallen. The Bible also says that death follows sin. So if a baby dies, original sin must be true. But why was Jesus sinless? I know he was conceived by the Holy Spirit and he was fully God and fully man. I'm not going to go ahead and make a judgment because I wish not to spread blasphemy. I will give different view points below.

We know that death and sin entered into the world. And death follows sin. So if a baby dies, he obviously is a sinner, right? After all, he/she is a human. The Bible also says that nothing unclean shall enter into Heaven. Many non-Biblical doctrines such as "Limbo" and "Purgatory" have been presented in order to try to answer this. But I don't think these doctrines are Biblical so I will offer other answers.

1. God could of predestine that baby to Hell. Since God is all knowing, He would know or not if that baby would come to repentance. Obviously, if the baby dies, God saw him/her not coming to repentance.

2. God has mercy on the infant because infants are unable to repent and do not know the difference between good and evil. Even though the infant itself did not commit a sin, God will have mercy on the infant.

"Unless you repent you will perish": Luke 13:3

"Save yourselves": Acts 2:40

Why are we told to "work out our own salvation": Phil 2:12

We also know that God grants the act of repentance. - 2 Tim. 2:24-26

And also the act to believe - Philippians 1:29

The Bible gives clue that infants are pure:

Paul states that he was once spiritually alive but then he sinned & died/was killed: Romans 7:9-11

God said that the king of Tyrus was "blameless in your ways from the day you were created, until unrighteousness was found in you." Ezek. 28:15

God allowed the children to enter Canaan but not the parents: "your little ones who...have no knowledge of good and evil shall enter". Deut. 1:34-39

Jacob & Esau, "the twins were not yet born, and had done nothing good or bad" Rom. 9:11

"Before He knows enough to refuse evil and choose good" Isa. 7:15-16

Matthew 19:13-15 says

"Then were there brought unto him little children, that he should put his hands on them, and pray: and the disciples rebuked them. But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven. And he laid his hands on them, and departed thence." - Matthew 19:13-15

Conclusion: We know that infants cannot repent and we also know God does not grant the act for them to believe. So either way, whether if you are an Arminianists or a Calvinist, in can possibly be agreed on that infants go to Heaven when they die. I also believe there is an age of accountability. If Original sin is a genetic defect, then I see no problem that infants can still go to Heaven through the mercy of God. I see no problem also that they can be considered "innocent". I have seen many responses by different Christians and they all conclude that infants do indeed go to Heaven.

Responding to an Atheistic argument

I addressed the atheistic claim "There is no difference believing in Santa Claus and in God." in one of my previous blogs. In this blog, I will address another statement made by atheists that goes like this:

"How do you know that the Flying Spaghetti monster or pink unicorns don't exist? Or Zeus, or Thor?"

Response: Of course the first thing we can say is that we cannot disprove they exist. But asking to disprove them is silly. Can you give a rational and logical argument to argue for the existence of pink unicorns, or the Fly Spaghetti monster? Why is there arguments for the existence of God? Obviously it is more logical to believe in God rather than pink unicorns. The belief in God has historical roots and certainly hold more weight than something someone can just make up. Anyone can make up anything, but it has to be found on truth. Something that the fly spaghetti monster or pink unicorns aren't founded on. They were made up. And if the skeptic then says "your god was made up", he or she is only assuming, which is were they already begin to make mistakes. There are arguments for the existence of God and plenty of evidence for His existence. This is not the case for pink unicorns or a Flying Spaghetti monster? And if God was a flying Spaghetti monster, so what! We can still call Him God, right? If a flying Spaghetti monster created the universe, he would have the characteristics of God.

How do we know that the other gods and religions are false? Again, there is no way of proving 100% they are false.....right now. The chance of the fulfilled prophecies in the Bible is mathematical miracle! Is there historical evidence that Thor was a real deity or even a man? All of this is not a problem for Christianity.

Christians can give rational arguments for the existence of God. And actually, science will never ever prove there is no god. But, if God does exist (which I believe He does) science may find God in the future! If you ask me, God can be observed through a telescope or a microscope now. If this is true, then truth will be know, you cannot debunk truth. And so far, nobody has debunked God or Christianity.

God bless.

Tough questions

For the past couple of days now I have been talking to atheists which bring up good, fair and tough philosophical questions. In this blog, I am going to attempt to answer a few of these questions from a Biblical point of view. But I can only go that far. For I do not know the will of God.

Question: If God knew Adam and Eve were going to sin beforehand, then why did He go through with it?

Response: Why should He stop them? God gave humans Free Will. He wanted creatures that could choose good or evil. It's not God's fault sin and death entered into the world. It's man's. Because God gave us Free will, he did not want to change Adam and Eve's choice. The sinful world that became after humanity had fallen, is the world we deserve.

Question: So was it a setup?

Response: God put the tree in the garden on purpose, yes. But it was to give Adam and Eve an option, because they had free will.

The Bible says God wants to be known. The Bible describes God as love too. He could of went through this process just so He could reveal himself to people and so that He can be known and so that He could save a fallen humanity. Keep in mind, it is not God's fault that humanity has fallen. It is man's. The truth is that we are all sinners and need a savior. Skeptics often make a mistake by saying that God died for Himself to save people from Himself. We do not understand the things and will of God. He became a man to die for the sins that MAN caused.

Question: Why does God punish for something that He could of stopped?

Response: He could of stopped, yes. But the question of if He could of prevented it, or even why should He of is completely irrelevant at this point

But again, why should He stop it? It's man's fault. The Bible describes Him as a holy and righteous God. God has EVERY right to punish evil and sin, it His will and nature.

Question : Why would an omnipotent, omniscient and omnipresent God want worship. Why does He care about life here on earth?

Response: It's truly an amazing belief. It is something that I cannot give a direct answer too for the simple reason of not knowing God's will and purpose for humanity. God wants to be know, as I said above. Obviously He created the earth and humans for a reason. Does He want us to understand good and evil? Does He want us to dedicate our lives to worship Him? I believe so. The reason why He wants worship is because He deserves it.

Question: Why does He want it though? Isn't that egoistic? Why is He jealous? Why does He get angry? Aren't these human tributes?

Response: He want's worship because He deserves it. Why would He even create this world and humanity if no worship was involved? Any God who would do such a thing is no true god.

It is important here to understand how the word jealous is used. How it used in Exodus 20:5 to describe God is different from how it is used to describe the sin of jealousy in Galatians 5:20. When we use the word jealous, we use it in the sense of being envious of someone who has something we don't have. When we look at this verse, we find that it is not that God is jealous or envious because someone has something He wants that He does not possess. Exodus 20:4-5 says, "You shall not make for yourself a carved image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; you shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God..." Notice that in this verse God is talking about being jealous if someone gives something that belongs to Him to another.

He's not egoistic either. He has nothing to prove to Himself. He doesn't even NEED worship to prove something to Himself. He only simply wants to be known and loved. He has every right to get angry at evil and sin because He is a holy and righteous God, as I said before.

Claim: This is why we can conclude that the God of the Bible was made up by humans because he has human traits.

Response: What if it was the other way around? What if when the Bible says that God made us in His image means something much more than a spiritual or even physical (even though God is a spirit) trait of Him? Humans are needy, when God is not. I don't see any problem of having these traits and still being an omnipotent, omniscient and omnipresent god. God is God, what can I say? He has these traits for good reasons. After all, He Himself said "I am that I am"!

Question : Why doesn't God come down and show he exists?

Response: Why should He? What better way of telling someone you love them then sitting back and see how they respond? He wants those who have faith. We also have Free will. Those who choose not to believe don't deserve to see Him. God has nothing to prove to anyone. What would He do if He did show himself like that? Would we all be robots and have no choice but to worship Him? This raises so many more questions and problems. And He has came down, in the form of a historical man named Jesus. He also has a great book telling about Himself and Him existing, it's called the Bible! It counts as evidence whether it be true or not.

God bless.
