Angels and Demons

Angelology and Demonology is what got me interested in learning Christianity the most I have to say. I have looked what the Kabbalah and other texts that give this information. I don't believe this should be trusted, I myself only study it out of interest. But in this blog, I will be talking about angels and demons and the different types of these beings.

Angels:

Angels are beings described in the Bible as messengers. In Bible stories, when someone is confronted by an angel it usually brings a message from God. Angels have been talked about in visions and in scripture. I believe angels can be helpers or guardians in everyday life although guardian angels are not talked about in the Bible. But I think by reading the actions these beings do it is obvious they are indeed messengers and guardians. Lets look at the different type of these heavenly angelic creatures.

Archangels:

The Kabbalah and other sources say that there are many different archangels, but as I said above, I don't think this can be trusted. The Bible only speaks about two distinct angels, Michael and Gabriel. Michael is said to be the chief of the heavenly hosts (angels). He is said to be the one that fought Lucifer and defeated him. This was the fall of heaven, Satan fell out of heaven at the hand of Michael commanded by God. Gabriel is said to be the angel that confronted the virgin Mary and told her she would give birth to the messiah. Although other literature's talk about many archangels, the Bible does not give the names or ranks of them. However the Bible does give clues that there might be many. We read in the book of revelation about the seven angels and the seven trumpets. These angels have big jobs and they were given trumpets by God. It seems as if these angels do have high ranks.

Seraphims:

Seraphim's are talked about in Isaiah 6:1–3. Isaiah says that these angelic beings sit around the throne of God and are always around God giving him praise.

Ophanims:

These beings are described as beings that look like wheels. The word ophan in Hebrew means "wheel". These beings are possibly talked about in Daniel 7:9 and Colossians 1:16. But I think if any scripture gives clue that these beings exist is found in Ezekiel 1:15-21. These beings are described as wheels with eyes all over them. I think this can count for all of these so called UFO sightings are really Ophanims.

Demons:

Demons can be debated over Christians. There are many Christians who believe that demons are really the souls of the Nephilim and that fallen angels are different types of evil spirits. The majority of Christians believe that demons are the fallen angels. But it is one thing for sure, evil spirits exist. The Bible doesn't talk about the different types of evil spirits or if there are even different "types". But many theologians and Bible scholars believe there are. The New Testament talks about a place called Tartarus. This place is described as were the fallen angels are chained up darkness until judgment day. But why did Jesus cast out demons? Why do we hear today that there is a lot of demonic activity going on if the fallen angels are chained up in darkness?

God bless.
