Marriage, sex and the Bible

There isn't much to say here. I simply wanted to show you the main reason and purpose behind marriage and also tell you my views on it. So, this blog is a short one.

We must ask where did "marriage" come from or what does it even mean. I believe marriage was ordained or set up by God all the way back in the Garden of Eden. God commanded them to be fruitful and to go out in all the world and procreate. Because God is the creator, we know God must of created sex. The main purpose behind relationships, is that, to procreate. However, this act is to only be done between a man and a woman. Husband and wife to be exact. The Bible encourages us to enjoy your sex lives in that type of relationship. Fornication, however, is sinful. This can even make the possibility of STD's to spread.

So what is marriage exactly? This definition puts it this way:

"the state of being united to a person of the opposite sex as husband or wife in a consensual and contractual relationship recognized by law"

I think this goes right along with the Biblical definition of marriage. Not to offend homosexuals (because I have a homosexual uncle), but marriage is suppose to be between a man and woman, for the reason I said earlier. That being sex. That is the main purpose, however. I do not have an answer on the purpose of love and being affectionate towards each other. Jesus never said anything on it. But the Old Testament does, so why does Jesus need to say anything? Although the laws were different back then, it still makes it clear it is an abomination. God obviously created male and female for a reason. I am going to leave it at that.

Conclusion: Enjoy your sex life if you are married. If you are no longer able to have children, then I don't see a problem with showing love towards your partner.

Interesting note: Don't you find it kind of weird how there is such thing as male and female? Is there a good evolutionary explanation for this along side with the act of sex in itself and how the sperm and egg meat the way they do? Very interesting.
